vacations in auburn, alabama

auburn city is a beautiful city in tha state of Alabama. It has some beautiful destinations in the city. I went to see this place few days ago. It was a very funfilled journey. With my partner. I already booked a hotel in this city. This was a hotel among the discounted hotels in auburn. When I checked in to the hotel I rested for some time and then I went out for the visit of Toomer's Corner. The first few times I went to Toomer's Corner it was for the lemonade and ice cream. Now, my friends and I enjoy eating at Toomer's. I use the term "cheap" lightly because the cost is cheap, but the food is great! You can get a soup and sandwich plus chips and a pickle for under $6!! They have great desserts too. My favorite is the hot fudge brownie which my boyfriend and I love to split! The pimento cheese is great, chicken salad is great, love their chili, hot dogs and more. If you are in a rush and just want some great food with a great atmosphere, eat here. Located in the heart of Auburn Toomer's Corner is a great place to stop and eat while shopping in the stores downtown or after rolling Toomer's Corner after winning a football game. The next place I went to see is Chewacla State Park. Chewacla is a fun place to have a picnic, hike or play. It costs a dollar per car to enter and you can drive to several different locations depending on what you're looking for. They have picnic areas, covered picnic areas, a waterfall, a bridge you can fish off of and a playground. They even have seesaws which are rare on playgrounds these days. There are several hiking trails and several open fields for frisbee or whatever else you may want to do. After this I returned back to my hotel and rested for the night. The next morning was very fresh. Then I had my breakfast and then I went out for visiting Indian pines golf course. When you arrive at Indian Pines in Opelika, Alabama, the first thing that you will notice is how green and well-manicured the course looks from the road (summer time and late fall). They have their own lake to draw from which is a huge plus. During the week it is only $20 to ride 18 holes. They even have an island Par 3. Weekend rates jump up to around $36. Very nice clubhouse with Pro-Line equipment and clothing. All in all, I would rate Indian Pines a 7.5 out of 10. If you are in the area and are looking for some good golf at a reasonable price, give Indian Pines a try. Auburn and Opelika share 8 golf courses between them and were voted top place to play golf by Golf Digest in around 2006 I believe.
