Italian Polar Institute "Silvio Zavatti"
We are the only Italian Polar Institute, with a Polar Museum and Library. Founded by the explorer and geographer Prof. Silvio Zavatti in 1944, we also publish the polar journal IL POLO since 1945. We are located in the historic Villa Vitali of Fermo, a beautiful medieval town in Central Italy, by the Adriatic Sea in the Marche region.
