Baeza (Jaén)

En 1912 su mujer, Leonor, cayó enferma de tuberculosis y finalmente murió. Machado cayó tan fuertemente en una depresión que decidió trasladarse a Baeza donde viviría con su madre y se dedicó mas a la enseñanza y al estudio. Hasta 1919 estuvo enseñando gramática francesa.
