This facility contains a 40 meter prototype of the observatories located at Hanford, WA and Livingston, LA. Before large scale upgrades are performed at the main sites, they are tested here.
Most of the LIGO staff work in West Bridge, a building on the southern side of Caltech\'s campus. Experimental labs are generally located in the basement and the sub-basement.
