This waterfall marks the drop in the Charles River that powered one of the first sites in the American industrial revolution, Francis Cabot Lowell's factory in Waltham, Massachusetts. The Museums and Public Memory class in Spring 2009 is considering doing a public art/video projection onto the surface of the waterfall.
