Bronze sculpture, 9 feet tall, 2007, by James Peniston. The sculpture's surface contains the casts of more than 1,000 keys donated by local schoolchildren. The bronze contains the brass nameplates of several fallen firefighters from four centuries of Philadelphia Fire Department service. The work was funded by the City of Philadelphia, the Fire Department, and more than 1.8 million pennies donated in more than 500 Philadelphia schools.
