Villawood Immigration Detention Centre

Villawood Detention Centre is located in Sydney, N.S.W. Human rights have been violently breached in the Villawood Detention Centre. Private security guards employed by Australian Correction Management's deportation service section have used batons and electric cattle prods against detainees, causing injuries among the men, women and children. <br />As of 2002 it held 426 detainees in basic conditions. Residents regulary stage protests in the hope that their conditions may be improved.<br />
