Varanasi
Varanasi (Benares) - miasto Śiwy - położone nad wodami Gangesu, jest jednym z najświętszych miejsc w Indiach. Rama pojawił się na świecie, by zniszczyć groźnego i bezlitosnego demona, dziesięciogłowego Rawonę. Ostatecznie postanowił rozprawić się z demonem kiedy ten porwał jego ukochaną żonę Sitę. Wraz z armią małp i królem wiatrów odnalazł ukochaną uwięzioną na wyspie Sir Lance. Kazał małpą wybudować pomost ze skał i drzew i po nim przedostał się na wyspę. Stoczył walkę z Rawone. Dobro zwyciężyło nad złem. Rama z żoną powrócił do Varanasi, gdzie żyli, jak to w bajkach bywa, długo i szczęśliwie.<br /><br />Poranny spacer przez pełne pielgrzymów stare miasto, a następnie przejażdżka łódką po Gangesie o wschodzie słońca, kiedy na licznych gatach pielgrzymi rozpoczynają rytualne kąpiele.
