Omán

Mascate (árabe: مسقط Masqaṭ) es la mayor ciudad y capital del sultanato de Omán, situada a orillas del golfo de Omán. Tiene una población estimada de 909.635 habitantes en su área metropolitana para 2006 . Fue una posesión portuguesa entre 1507 a 1580 y 1640 a 1650, de España entre 1580 y 1640 y es una de las más antiguas ciudades del Medio Oriente.
