Streetplans and roadmaps available for much of Europe

It's here, another upgrade at Google Maps, and now we have streetplans and roadmaps available for much of Europe at your Tagzania maps: just switch to 'map' view to check. An example, the Basque coastal town of Zarautz. This view uses the big map option below the standard map.

Zarauzko kaleak Tagzanian
The following countries well covered, at first sight: Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany, Denmark.

Perhaps not so well covered, but reaching the whole territory: Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Belgium, Poland.

Partially: Greece (Athens OK, but limited detail in other areas), Istanbul area in Turkey, Moscow in Russia.

Just some road lines over "white" land: Belarus (road to Moscow), Serbia, Macedonia.

Until now I guess (given its creators' location) it made sense for Tagzania to default to satellite views. Now that Europe is mapped, can we expect Tagzania functionality to improve accordingly?  In particular, will I be able to embed a Tagzania map (as opposed to a satellite view) in a web page?

We have our doubts regarding map view as default. The planet at large is still served by satellite imagery. Even many countries in Europe. I suppose that we should write some code to detect, in every case, if the view is better served with roadmaps or satellite, not with a default option for all.

The other request: option to choose view in maps to be pasted or embedded elsewhere, you are absolutely right with that one. It's in the to-do list.

Oh, by all means leave the global default as satellite -- that makes sense.  Mainly I'd like to be able to paste map or hybrid views.  And maybe users could set a user default to maps or hybrids?

Now you can paste maps in map mode. This was a long requested feature that we owed our users...
