Roadmaps are now visible on Africa clicking on the map tab of the map
windows. Coverage is very varied, but there seems to be streetplan
detail in some major cities like Cairo, Alger or Cape Town. Look at the intricate streets of Cairo, for instance.
Other cities like Tanger, in Morocco, show the main roads in town,
but no streets names visible. Finally, there are obviously empty areas,
void of any road signs, and towns just with a name and a shaded area
marking the urban area, like Ndola, in Zambia.
However, if you switch to the map views and zoom out a little bit, you
may see that roads and town names give you a new lively image of
Africa, like at this border region between Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
This enhancement of the Google Maps API imagery is very much welcomed, indeed.
