You type an address at maps.google.com, maps.google.co.uk and maps.google.co.jp and there it goes (in Japan, only Japanese input, no addresses in Latin alphabet). But, when the resulting googlemap comes in, with a red marker on it, the Tagzai! Google Local bookmarklet of Tagzania will not work with that view.

However there's an easy way to get the bookmark. Instead of bookmarking the exact location of the marker, zoom in as much as possible, and doubleclick on the map, just as near to the marker. That will recenter the map very near to the source. Then, you can use the bookmarklet, and save the location. It will not be geocoded with the exact decimals that are stored at Google Local, but, for most practical uses, that won't matter much.
In the case of Google Local Japan, it's very much the same, but it will not work with Latin alphabet addresses like 13-9 Ueno Park, Taito-ku, Tokyo,110-8712, Japan. Instead, with Japanese characters, 東京都台東区上野公園13-9, it will find and display maps. However, the same trick is needed, doubleclick on a spot near the marker, and then use the Tagzai! Google Local Bookmarklet.

These two museums, one in New Orleans and the other in Tokyo, where bookmarked and saved this way. Click images to enlarge or see at Flickr (US, JP).
